Itinerary

Day 1: Reach Joshimath

Get to Joshimath. If you choose our transportation, we will meet at 7 AM in Dehradun ISBT and go to Joshimath. Overnight in Joshimath hotel/guesthouse.

Day 2: Drive from Joshimath to Tugashi and hike to Tali

Our hike begins at Tugashi Village at 7:30 AM after breakfast. You may need a jacket, but you can hike in a T-shirt and fleece if it’s sunny. Walking through dusty trails will lead you to Tugashi village, your first water source. The villagers’ traditional lifestyle is on display in this lovely community.

You’ll travel through magnificent oak woodland as you ascend from the Tugashi settlement. Sometimes, a clearing or meadow appears in the forest. You’ll have lunch at Gulling around 1 pm, recuperate, and prepare for the final climb to Tali Campsite. Although not steep, the next 4 miles will be uphill. You’ll love Tali camping in the forest since a team will bring you hot drinks and refreshments.

Day 3: Tali to Kuari Pass

Today will be spectacular. Going up and down hills and snow slopes in winter makes it easier than the day before. Today’s trip will astound you with its mountain views, snowfield, and thrill of being on top of the world at Kuari Top.

Kuari Top, the trail’s highest point, takes 4 hours to climb, and Kuari Pass is 700 meters (40 minutes) away. Neelkantha, Nanda Devi, Hathi Ghoda Parvat, Dronagiri, Pangarchulla, and Chaukhamba are visible today. After stopping at the pass, we retrace our steps to Tali by late afternoon.

Day 4: Gorson bugyal links Tali and Auli (3048 M) | Drive to Joshimath

Yesterday’s views were amazing; today’s will be better. After camp, eight hundred metres of steady climbing gets you out of the woodland. The gorgeous Tali Lake is your first break. Tali Lake, India’s highest mountain, offers clear views of Nanda Devi.

This small trail leads to Gorson Bugyal after 1.5 km. Walk over a vast field for 5km, where the snow makes the landscape lovely in winter. Many Auli day hikers come here to enjoy the snow. At Auli Ski Resort, take the Joshimath bus from the roadhead. Driving from Auli to Joshimath takes around an hour. The vacation is over, so take a hot shower, relax, and celebrate.

Day 5: Depart Joshimath (2040 M)

The journey concludes today—guest house check-out. We will reach Dehradun in the late evening if you choose our transportation.
